GTAT Reconsidered

I am having doubts about this company. Its not that their products are poor, they are in fact superb. Its that I asked a colleague about GTAT Sapphire versus Gorilla and Cornings new glass Willow that allows a flexible screen with a bend in it. I also wrote to GTAT and asked them about the price of Sapphire in relation to Gorilla and they have not replied. Thast always a bad sign to me, it means the company knows they have a problem and don't want to admit it. The colleague said he doubted that Sapphire could be cost effective and I am beginning to agree. If that is the case then GTAT becomes a solar panel company and thats not so good today. If Mitt Romney should get the White House he will not favor extending subsidy, he has made that clear, and currently solar is not cost effective. Of course they are working hard at GTAT to reduce the price of silican solar, but that may be years away. I will do more research on this but for now have shelved my planned share purchase.
