Below are the statistical results of people who read my blog and where they come from in terms of technology. Now I don't think my blog is anything other that a normal representation. I have two laptops in my house, both in constant use. I used to work at the Caribbean largest media company and all our staff used desktop or laptop PC's. In my house two of us have smartphones but we only use them for phone and IM and very occasional email and web while out of home. Apple is the most valuable company in the world, but the world still 90+% uses Windows to actually do anything meaningful at work and at home. Yes the hand is the growth area, I have repeatedly said so in this blog, but its still an emerging market with tiny footprint in the world of data and information. There is a lot of hype out there and a lot of hyping up. I follow retail, do you think it likely that retail will switch from integrated tills with in the case of supermarkets weighing machines, printers etc linked to an Iphone? Practically speaking there is still huge traction in play that supports a Windows based world. Its not likely to change significantly in the next 5-10 years.
