I saw this interesting graph on Charles Schwab today. It tracks the PMI, or Purchase Managers Index for the globe. Now my understanding is that the index is a critical one as it watches the manufacturing process from the viewpoint of equipment and supply purchases so is often a leading indicator of the economy. Based on this it looks very much like the USA is doing considerably better than the rest of the world. A reading above 50 indicates growth.
