The Budget that Wasn't
I was more than disappointed by George Osborn's pathetic attempt at a budget this week. Basically he did nothing to help anyone. All talk and no action. What was needed is well known, cut public spending by a substantial amount, at least 20%, lower taxes to stimulate spending growth, fix the housing problem. All daunting tasks but that's what he is paid for, not some waffle about children day care being the most important problem facing Britain. What total rubbish. Since he got into power with a pledge to cut public spending, he has doubled the national debt and done very little to stimulate growth. Britain is deep in a recession. House prices will fall again by another 20%, due to his inability to stimulate spending his tax revenues will fall again, and he will be caught in a trap of doing nothing gets you nothing back! Expect the pound to continue its downward trend.
